WHYY’s high school Summer Filmmakers bring you their Western, Hall Monitor, for their genre challenge project. This was the second project of WHYY’s high school Summer Filmmakers program, where students were assigned a genre and line of dialogue to include in their script to guide their production process.
Hall Monitor is a story of justice in the face of classroom bullies and trouble makers. It takes you on the journey of one Hall Monitor’s attempt to uphold the legacy of Hall Monitors everywhere, and like all good Westerns is equipped with a face off scene and tumbleweeds (a volleyball). Watch to find out how the assigned line, “why would you choose that as your vehicle?” was worked into the film.
