Childs and DeBurgos: Staying Connected to Your Culture

In WHYY’s after-school programs, students are always asked what stories they would like to share about their community. This year middle school students at G.W. Childs Elementary and Julia de Burgos Elementary decided to produce films about culture. At both schools, the student body is made up of different nationalities which provided an opportunity to share unique stories about how people stay connected to their culture.

This video series was created by 7th and 8th grade Julia De Burgos Media Club students to talk with a diverse group of our community members about the different ways that they stay connected to their roots when they have migrated from their home countries.
